Hussien Berisso, M.Eng., MSc, P.Eng, Co-founder and Principal

Hussien is a Professional Engineer with a double Master's and Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Ryerson University in Toronto, ON. He also holds a certificate in a PM from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, BC. He has over 10 years of engineering work experience including 5 years working for a major electric utility as a grounding studies and design Engineer. Prior to co-founding A&H Hussien has been working in the consulting industry as a project engineer for various consultants both as an independent consultant where he successfully led teams and manged projects of various scales.

Hussien’s areas of expertise are substation grounding studies, power systems analysis, renewable energy development and project management.

He is an active volunteer with Engineers and Geoscientists BC, currently serving as a Vice-Chair of a Tri-City branch. In his personal time, he is a running instructor with running room Canada and an avid long distance runner with over 12 half and full marathon finishes.

Sean Cobham, P.Eng, Engineering Advisor

Sean has over fifteen years of experience in the design of low and medium voltage power distribution, fire alarm systems, and telecommunication systems for commercial, institutional, and industrial facilities. His work includes feasibility studies, design, drawings, specifications, cost estimation, field review services, project management as well as coordination with clients, suppliers, and authorities.

His electrical design experience includes telecommunications hubs utilizing 54V dc distribution systems, batteries, large scale Uninterruptible Power Supply systems, AC power distribution, and diesel backup generation. Sean has been heavily involved in energy systems analysis and studies and has created, modified, and reviewed Method of Procedures (MOPs) and cutovers for the implementation of recommendations and system modifications.

Sean is an Uptime Institute Accredited Tier Designer. He has performed feasibility studies including standby generator evaluation and DC plant evaluation, including recommendations to correct deficiencies to meet client company standards. His Standards Committee experience includes telecommunications hub standard specification development and revision, battery system evaluation; including battery condition, disconnects, cabling, and recommendations to correct deficiencies.

 

Arvin (Ahmad) Radan, PhD, SM-IEEE, Co-founder, Director of Research and Development.

Arvin is an international scholar and researcher and the author of one book and more than 70 articles in the peer-reviewed international journals and conference proceedings. He holds a PhD degree in Power Electronics and Electric Drives from the Technical University of Munich in Germany and is the co-founder of two scientific Associations where he served as vice president and treasury for two years. He has over 15 years of cross-functional experience in academia and industry as advisor for development and modernization projects and has been part of the local advisory group of IEC Technical Committee TC22. Before co-founding A&H Engineering Ltd. Arvin was a board member of the Association of Iranian Engineers of BC and the director of engineering at Radinsight Co offering consultation service to other companies like Innovaflux Enterprises Ltd. and Eaase Management Inc.

Arvin’s areas of expertise are power conversion and variable frequency drive systems and power quality assessment and mitigation. He is an active senior member of IEEE, an active volunteer of Engineers and Geoscientists BC, Tri-City branch and President of the Presidents’ Distinguished Toastmasters Club. He is a hiker, an environmental activist, and a supporter of youth programs.
